Our work began with setting out the opening in the level 24 slab which we supported from below with new structural trimming steelwork before propping and cutting the new opening. We designed, fabricated and installed a steel staircase connecting the two floors. We also provided a complete joinery finishes package, overseeing the design, coordination and installation of timber treads and risers with matching timber to the soffit under the stair along with a continuous half-rounded timber handrail to the balustrade. The balustrade itself is a bespoke pattern, pre-fabricated in sections from steel square bars and site-welded together. The concealed steel stringers and landing are completely clad in timber to give the appearance of the stair being wholly timber.
